(Heritage Town of Kells) (Royal County of Meath) (Golf) (Angling) (Where to Eat)

HEADFORT GOLF COURSE (home course of Damien McGrane) was established in 1928 on rolling countryside that was formerly part of the Headfort Estate. It boasts a 36 hole layout.

The Old Course is one of the finest examples of a long established, mature challenge, with a large selection of magnificent specimens of oak and beech gracing its fairways.

Christ O’Connor Jr., the designer of the new additional championship New Course, has made maximum use of the two islands on the River Blackwater, the surrounding forests and the magnificent, mature, broadleaf trees dotted around the land.

Both the Old and the New course are quality courses in beautiful surroundings, kept in excellent condition and where you will receive a friendly Irish welcome.

Headfort House, built in 1780, a stunning backdrop to some of the holes. Headfort Golf Club is the definitive "must visit" on any golfing itinerary.

It is the finest piece of land I have worked with and could host the Irish Open without any trouble” (Christy O’Connor Jr.)

As we (Michael & Terry) are both members of Headfort Golf Club, we can organise advise on green fees and book tee times for you during your visit. Please advise when filling in the enquiry form if you would like us to do this for you.
